Unicorn Challenge – Anantasana

anantasana unicorn challenge cosmic grape 2014

Couch potato pose – Anantasana. This asana teaches about the relationship between sleeping and creativity. Anantasana comes from a story about Lord Visnu.

While sleeping on his snake couch, a lotus grows from Visnu’s navel. From the lotus, Brahma springs forth and creates the world.  To me, Anantasana points out how important it is for us to sleep.  When we sleep our creativity comes forth and the worlds we dream about come into existence.

The cat is right.  Sometimes breathing and sleep is more important than trying hard to get into an asana.
